This year was supposed to realise a high aspiration for Malaysia. Vision 2020. But at the start of the new year, we are faced with challenges that test the determination of us as a nation. Especially the Covid-19 pandemic the world is facing.
These extraordinary circumstances tests businesses to survive. Maideasy hasn’t been spared. The MCO sees that many of our cleaning crew unable to perform cleaning for homes, often being asked to turn back at check points.
However, the Prime Minister announced that certain sectors, including the services industry are allowed to operate on May 4, 2020. Maideasy’s team quickly prepared for operations to resume. Our cleaning crew were informed of the green light from the government and were advised of additional health and safety measures to mitigate the risks of Covid-19.
The country isn’t fully normal yet with dangers of repercussions from the pandemic. Help is provided for by the government to ease the burden of small businesses facing a sudden slow down or complete shut down of businesses. Malaysians have been exemplary in their caution and adherence to social distancing rules and the MCO. #stayathome #kitajagakita
Malaysia is heading for a new normal. What does it look like? It probably means less social activities and more caution from people in interacting in public spaces. Until when, we are not sure.
Malaysia’s biggest celebration is coming. Eid Mubarak and Selamat Hari Raya. This year we will be celebrating a little different, not being allowed to cross interstate visiting loved ones in the kampung. Technology like Zoom or Google Meet are used to communicate with loved ones, away from us. We miss their presence, but it’s a sacrifice we make for Malaysia.
The Maideasy team would especially like to thank our front liners, the health personnel like doctor’s and nurses, the police and army as well the unnamed and often invisible personnel who helped us get through this difficulty.
Maideasy would like to inform you that we are closed from Sunday, May 24 to Tuesday, May 26 for Hari Raya celebrations. Some bookings have been made during these days and they will continue as normal.
Lastly, as a social enterprise, we would like to affirm our commitment in providing income for the B40.
Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to all our Maideasy customers and cleaning crew.
